As the youngest of five children raised on a farm in Central Ohio during the early 1970s, I developed a love for drag racing at an early age. My brothers and sisters all had muscle cars, and it wasn’t long before I caught the racing bug myself. As soon as I got my driver’s license, I was racing too. In fact, I still own the first car I purchased at age 15—a Chevy Nova that I bought for just $500. Today, I continue to work on that car, slowly piecing it together with the goal of competing in the Super Street and Super Gas classes.
While drag racing has been one of my greatest passions, my first love has always been God. Throughout the different seasons of life, I’ve experienced my share of challenges and obstacles. Looking back, I can clearly see God’s hand at work through every victory, setback, and lesson learned. Those experiences have given me a desire to share the hope and love of Christ with others, especially within the racing community.
The racing community has been a significant part of my life and so has my faith. Bringing those two passions together feels like a natural calling. My goal is to build meaningful relationships, encourage others, and share the love of Christ both on and off the track.

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
This verse reminds us that people are strengthened, refined, and encouraged through meaningful relationships. Just as one piece of iron sharpens another, we grow in character, wisdom, and effectiveness when we challenge, support, and learn from one another. It highlights the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who inspire us to be better and reminds us that personal growth is often a collective journey rather than a solitary one.
For me, this verse reflects the importance of faith, fellowship, and community—whether in everyday life or within the racing world. Through encouragement, accountability, and shared experiences, we can help each other grow closer to God and become the people He has called us to be.
