I grew up and continue to reside in the southern parts of the United States. I have been associated with drag racing for sixty years. I rededicated my life to the Lord in 2006. Two yrs later, I came across Christian Motorsports International’s Racers for Christ. Until then, I did not know Christ was welcomed at any race track. In 2009, I became a Chaplain with Team RFC. I was blown away at how the Holy Spirit navigated my willing heart. Softening hearts to receive the message and prayers He was sending. As I grew and matured in the Lord, more doors opened…I again walked through. My first pro level opportunity came through Lucas Oil Drag Boats. Realizing these racers can wreck and drown set heavy on my heart. The beauty of the boat racers is their love of the sport, moreover, their love of each other and for their Jesus. As with all things, drag boat racing changed venues. God always has a plan. About six years ago, I came across the Professional Drag Racing Association (PDRA). I saw the same love and passion for drag racing I saw with the drag boat community. Faith, Family and Drag Racing! Realizing there was minimal prayer support in the staging lanes, I reached to Renee Bingham with GodSpeed Ministry. Perhaps I could come on board with GSM and help with PDRA. The door was opened. I walked through. The Holy Spirit has shown me His wonders and ways to serve Him. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done in ministry. Yet, has been some of the most life giving experiences of my lifetime. God never called me to be comfortable Christian. He called me to stomp the ground. If you love the Lord and like drag racing, pray first. There just may be an opened door by Heavenly design.
